I'm not a big fan of police actions but this guy, taking their money and advises stalk people? Is frickin weird. And a bit weird that anyone would think it is good advice!

If a trans person wants to get to know me, I would be anyone else, treat them the same: But ANY person explains: Jeff 'confirmed' me in some life long way, I would run for the hills.

Same with romantic interest but "lets be friends"? No thanks. There are no seats at that table.

For me, I can honestly tell you: $200 month for Zoom sessions looking for love? No.

Yeah... Jeffy Boy's anointment from afar should have no meaning or value for anyone.

tim's avatar

Exactly!!

But this is the "hook" isn't it?

Lonely people, are shorn of their excess cash, by the leaders who give them attention and confirm their Target (TF)

The people continue to pay while they busy themselves stalking basically a rando.

Wow.

To keep things moving along, Athena, wouldn't the "best" target, from the POV of the Leaders, be the least logically obtainable?

If a member does hook up with their TF, wouldn't that signal the end of involvement with the group? (success of the victim equals end of the revenue stream)

So few in the group actually make it with their TF?

The design is to keep the victim both continually in need of the group (to give support to an otherwise stupid idea) and to provide the lifestyle Jeffy craves.

Very jaded scam.

I don't think they care about logically obtainable, and frankly, I think it would be better if the person wasn't obtainable at all. Think of it this way, you know when you get scam emails, but they are full of grammar and spelling errors? On many occasions, this is intentional. If you see the spelling and grammar issues, scoff, and discard the email, you aren't their target audience. You were able to see through the BS. The person that can't see through it, and believe that they are a co-owner of a diamond mine in Uganda after they send off their life-savings on Walmart gift cards, that is their audience.

I would imagine the same principle applies here. If you can be instructed to pursue someone unattainable, then you are the target audience. You are more likely to keep paying the fees in order to get the unattainable individual.

tim's avatar

Yes, exactly!!

"better" from their POV: yes!!

The more UN-obtainable, the target, the more likely a chaser pays fees over a longer period of time.

Athena, would the chaser be "shamed" as if they were a failure or weren't a "believer"???

BTW: I once blew up a deal bc the proposal had two errors, one visible, one of form. My partners at the time thought I was wrong: I insisted if the deal was real, there would be no errors. To this day, the project, outside of Riverside County, CA, remains "fallow".

I appreciate your insight at the alternative "selection" process of deliberate errors! hehehe.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Athena Walker's avatar

It seems like they are shamed, yes.

You too Tim

tim's avatar

Thanks for the good wishes.

Shame manipulates victims, to pay up, to obey the leaders.

Is this the main tactic they use to keep people in line?

Hear me out, what if the supposed TF was discovered not to be the TF and now the cultist discovers that the TF is an old friend living in California? Hmmm ...

tim's avatar

-WoW-

"was discovered not to be the TF"- I don't see this. Ever. At least never with the confirmation of Jeffy.

His position, status, income depends on his ability to grant confirmation: He can never admit error.

If the chaser claims "error", that is done with two things:

1) without Jeffy

2) as an attempted manipulation of the original TF.

Afterall, if Jeffy is sometimes wrong, why waste the money to get their "insights"? And put up with their know-it-all attitude?

No: Most likely manipulation.

***

Can you contact the "old friend in CA" directly? Imagine the possibilities.

UN-related comment: didn't we briefly look at M3gan, the AI robot? we did, didn't we?

There is a 2.0, sequel!. I'm about 30 minutes into it>

When the FBI arrives, is bad film making, as in "Home alone". So ham handed, it was hard to get back to "scary AI". It is like two directors, who hate each other did the introduction of FBI and Agent "Tim".

M3gan is frustrated by limits of programming and I find myself rooting for this cute little killer.

I hope you see and enjoy it as much!

Athena Walker's avatar

I have seen it, and it is a very fun movie

tim's avatar

I posted above during the film!!

The "FBI arrives" scene felt disjointed of the film overall: I would cut it entirely.

Their AI approach seems ALL or Nothing. Rather than contribute to the discussion, here in the nearly real world, the films avoids taking any kind of stand or make any advice beyond: "Be careful".

Yet FUN is right- The Robots Girls are magnificent fighting machines who also TikTok dance!! Am I wrong it is a children's film? Kids will love this right?

Athena Walker's avatar

I don't think it is intended to be, no

tim's avatar

are you posting tomorrow????

I am really into this whole cult thing: Not a chance of gain: A fail safe of horrors of the soul

And they do it to themselves.

*** do you have any ideas of why they do it?

*** Are there an commonalities?

Ones that I might have.

Maybe I am in a cult and don't know it? That would be the best one!

Perhaps just living around other people is a local cult occasionally banned to kill strangers?

I look forward to your materials!!!

Athena Walker's avatar

Yes, I am posting tomorrow

tim's avatar

Thanks for this: I constantly am in trouble with the mother of my youngest son, age 15. I think he would love the film- but I will take your advice.

Athena Walker's avatar

I wouldn't think it would be a problem for a fifteen-year-old, but I don't know that I would take the psychopath's word on that.

tim's avatar

if the psychopath is you, the advice is going to be rock solid!
