I had a few giggles with this one, gotta love your sense of humour.
I think this ties perfectly with your human darkness series. He is most likely just a normative human who did awful things, like most other people we know who are guilty of similar deeds.
That is sort of the point. Normative humans are not only capable of, but often commit, horrific acts. They aren't abnormal, and that is the darkness that needs to be addressed.
All humans have the propensity to evil and being psychopathic does not necessarily make you any more or less prone, but a psychopathic will be a bit more cold.
Surely some of his neurons might be refusing to hold hands, but I do believe he is just another dude. He was given the money and the power, and here we are today. There are people out there doing the same with much less, so unfortunately, he is in no way the worst in the barrel.
"Y"ou aren’t going to develop NPD and sociopathy at the same time. The conditions for these things to form are wildly different, and the emotional constructs are as well. If you guys want, I can do a post on that article. Let me know." I would yes please Athena. I wondered if it might at least be possible for someone to fully develop one of those alongside just some traits of the other (even if they can't have full blown conditions of both at once) There have been a couple of Quora users I interacted with for some time who have called themselves narcissistic sociopaths (so far as I recall). I wondered if this might be why they are using the label although maybe I'm wrong..."
I just have to say that the thing about eyes is funny. Tonight I had dinner with a lady who kept making eye contact with me and she finally commented on how open and honest my gaze is. I suppose it depends on what you're looking for
As always good post Athena. Seems like more someone that craves acceptance or worship and unfortunately has people that feed her needs. She also seems to equate being an asshole with psychopathy for an easy scapegoat hook. Im sure some psychopaths can be assholes but I'm sure just as many can be decent citizens if they are even aware of their condition. I dont understand why there are so many that blindly follow ignorant people taking their words as gospel without having any interest to check out who or what they say. It seems ridiculous to me to go off what any person says without a track record of that person having knowledge of a subject and integrity.
Definitely strange that anybody would want to be something they have little idea of or understand nothing is without drawbacks or negatives. People really need to learn to be happy with who and how they are.
It is currently. I don't consider neurodivergence as being particularly interesting, just something to include in the catalog of information for people to draw from.
Similarly with sexuality. Heterosexuality is "boring." I've had female friends change their sexual identity but stuck almost exclusively straight white men.
Some people use tiktok videos to diagnose themselves.
It seems like everyone is self-absorbed.
Any bad experience is trauma. Any jerk of a boyfriend is a narcissistic.
Whatever happened to people being labeled vain rather than narcissistic, ignorant rather than racist, compulsive rather than addicted.
Many thanks for the article share btw. I wasn't familiar with Puff Daddy going by that name before (didn't long gather he is that music artist). I wouldn't be surprised if it was the case that all that was said just to aim to draw in extra views, although for all I know maybe those people both genuinely believe that he is truly psychopathic...
The story is dramatic enough that there really isn't a need to try to make it even more so. Adding that he's a "psychopath", to me anyway, actually takes away from the story. People are so quick to think, psychopaths are evil, so why be surprised by their deeds? The fact that this is, as far as we know, a normative person makes it interesting. It's part of the hook of the story. The other thing that makes it so interesting, is the number of people involved. They knew what was happening, and enthusiastically participated. If that doesn't demonstrate the nature of the normative human, I don't know what does.
I can appreciate what you mean. One further thing I didn't think of before is that the subject of psychopaths isn't really anything new now (although that said I guess there are always people discovering the subject for the first time out there and learning various things about it - for good or worse).
Apparently, drugging was very common. There were drinks meant for the perpetrators, and drinks for the victims that the perpetrators were specifically told to avoid. These drinks were given to the victims pretty much immediately, and they removed any ability to consent.
"Most people are happy sheep on a farm who are content to socialize and be social creatures without ever thinking about it too hard and there's nothing wrong with that."
Appreciating that this article is no longer as new as it was Athena. But just a thought here. I can see (I think) why you went with the sheep analogy. But do you think the differences between those such as yourself and neurotypicals might be a bit better put over with say a domestic dog and wolf analogy? They are both canine animal types (as psychopath and neurotypicals are both human) so share a lot of DNA (similar to humans sharing a lot) - yet still have drastic differences. Domestic dogs are more easily controlled than wild wolves (but vary in personality for example some being a fair bit more docile than others even within the same dog breed type ).
What do you think? I was recently checking out some wolf and dog stuff (as I'm interested in those subjects generally) which prompted this thought for me.
Well I was bearing the whole independence thing in mind. Domestic dogs are dependent on humans at least. Another thing, not all people have submissive easy going unquestioning follower temperaments (if that’s the reason you went with sheep). I’ve seen this with people in office leadership
positions and in some doctor positions for example. I also know a couple who aren’t anything like that. Neither of my aunts are like that either. I wouldn’t say my uncle is either etc. Some humans are a lot more independent in temperament than others (even without having a psychopathic condition).
Ultimately up to you of course. And admittedly I don’t know a whole lot about sheep. Maybe there are things about them you know that I don’t
BIGGIE "not" BIG E. Athena, BiG E? No? "Big E" is still available?
About a year ago, you mentioned Psychopaths inherently view themselves as "far superior" to others. (well, infinitely I think you wrote?) I know I do and it protects me from goofy people like this presenter or even Harvey recieving his flesh tribute from Oprah.
I don't think I wrote that because it isn't true. We don't consider others to begin with, let along their value compared to our own. That requires focus on someone other than us.
as you make my genetic makeup psychopathic, remove the mother-child bond between Ivy and Franca, Diana and Franca, Franca and Grace, so that we heal and are protected from the biological basis for the mother-child bond, codon degeneracy, caretaker personality type, dependent personality type, OCPD, Avoidant personality disorder, psychopathic decompensation, sibling bond, social bond, family bond as well as ethnic affiliation.
I had a few giggles with this one, gotta love your sense of humour.
I think this ties perfectly with your human darkness series. He is most likely just a normative human who did awful things, like most other people we know who are guilty of similar deeds.
Also, I hope you had your well-deserved pizza.
Thank you, I did.
If all the sexual abuse allegations are true, I do not think he is normal.
Out of all the crimes, I think sexual abuse is the most unjustifiable.
Indeed
Surely some of his neurons might be refusing to hold hands, but I do believe he is just another dude. He was given the money and the power, and here we are today. There are people out there doing the same with much less, so unfortunately, he is in no way the worst in the barrel.
Absolutely true, unfortunately
It scares me to think there are people who appear more than that could be committing the most vile sexual acts of abuse without being caught.
The world is a dangerous place

All right, I will do so
I would love if you did this as well!
Thank you Athena, appreciated.
I just have to say that the thing about eyes is funny. Tonight I had dinner with a lady who kept making eye contact with me and she finally commented on how open and honest my gaze is. I suppose it depends on what you're looking for
That is so very true. Everything is filtered through our perceptions.
As always good post Athena. Seems like more someone that craves acceptance or worship and unfortunately has people that feed her needs. It is so strange to me when I see someone that says they were diagnosed, so gleefully don the stereotypes as a badge of honor. It speaks to so much...
Definitely strange that anybody would want to be something they have little idea of or understand nothing is without drawbacks or negatives. People really need to learn to be happy with who and how they are.
They would first have to know who that would be, but many have no idea
It is a challenge to be happy with yourself.
This is an attention seeking generation
Indeed, it is
Everyone wants to be the next big influencer.
Everyone wants to be different and sound intellectual.
It is this idea "I'm different and more interesting than others."
I think neurodivergence is trendy.
It is currently. I don't consider neurodivergence as being particularly interesting, just something to include in the catalog of information for people to draw from.

Buzzwords: trauma, narcissistic, gaslighting, racist, privilege, addict

Indeed true, as it is for all things, no matter how old, it is always new to someone
I wonder how much drugs and alcohol was involved.
If two drunk people have sex, who is guilty of sexual assault?
Apparently, drugging was very common. There were drinks meant for the perpetrators, and drinks for the victims that the perpetrators were specifically told to avoid. These drinks were given to the victims pretty much immediately, and they removed any ability to consent.
That's terrible. Some of the people thought they were both having a shot of vodka as Diddy, but they were drinking something else laced with a drug.
That's terrible.
A lot of people in the entertainment industry have serious issues with substance abuse.
I have to wonder why. Some former models or actresses describe the availability of cocaine at these parties.
Heroin use too.
Being out of your mind like that scares me.
Many people consider it a desirable state. It's not something that I understand, but certainly have seen
I definitely love how a good film or music can wash away my worries.
I started reading again too for the temporary escape
"Most people are happy sheep on a farm who are content to socialize and be social creatures without ever thinking about it too hard and there's nothing wrong with that."

I think that sheep is a far better analogy.
Wolves can be highly independent from one another. Neurotypicals require one another to be emotionally regulated.
Well I was bearing the whole independence thing in mind. Domestic dogs are dependent on humans at least. Another thing, not all people have submissive easy going unquestioning follower temperaments (if that’s the reason you went with sheep). I’ve seen this with people in office leadership

that are relevant here.

Thanks. I've been quoting, that is "mis-quoting", you on that for a year. Thanks for setting me straight
I'm sure many never thought about it.
