The hypnotherapist, I study influence psychology from a healers perspective,

Influence psychology is a clean way of saying manipulation.

Everyone influences everyone else either consciously or unconsciously, with intention or without intention.

One cannot not manipulate.

The issue is not manipulation, the issue is outcomes and effects.

It is about how to engage in manipulation I think. This is one of those things that the more ownership of personal agency, the better the outcome of the manipulation, both in the physical and mental world.

Very much so, Athena! I find that learning, discovery, analysis, and sheer novelty, are ....intoxicating.

But...

some of my closes friends in high school, well all of them, at one time or another expressed trepidation at my intense "ruthless" curiosity and apparent disregard for moral /ethical boundaries.

I can relate to the moral ethical boundaries when it comes to satisfying curiosity. I have certainly found myself butting up against those rules.
