Oh my, this really does need a wider audience. So important. As a general misfit I have long championed the causes of the nureodivergent, the gender divergent, the psychiatrically vulnerable, the mentally broken. So much human suffering is unavoidable (natural disaster, disease), so why perversely add to the suffering of so many through narrow-minded prejudice, which should be entirely avoidable? Let people just be. OK, psycopaths do not 'suffer', but still, let's apply the same intellectual standards. My partner is not neurotypical and also doe not 'suffer' as such, but he experiences a strong and disruptive cognitive sense of 'wrongness", which I imagine is the motivation for Athena being so prolific on this site.

I'm very glad you are writing this out so exhaustively. This work needs an audience beyond this substack.
